| Job Description: | We are seeking candidates for the positions of Sustainability Manager (Economics) and Sustainability Manager (Policy).
The Sustainability Manager( Economics) candidate should possess a good Masters or PhD in economics or related fields and ideally have 2-3 years of working experience in a business environment (e.g. multinational firm, SME, etc.), with a strong background in climate change and environmental sustainability issues (CDM projects, carbon markets, environmental standards, etc.) Key responsibilities include: • Conduct economics research projects in the region on sustainability topics • Conduct market research studies (quantitative and qualitative), perform statistical analysis and build financial models as required in the projects • Write publications and give presentations on research findings in relevant journals and at relevant events The Sustainability Manager (Policy) candidate should possess a good Masters or PhD in social sciences or related fields and ideally have 2-3 years of working experience in a policy unit (e.g. government agency, multilateral agency, policy research institution), with experience in environmental policy topics (e.g. Kyoto Protocol and mechanisms, REDD, etc.) Key responsibilities include: • Design, develop, organize and facilitate engagement sessions with senior policy and business decision makers in the region (e.g. workshops, executive education programs, etc.) • Conduct policy research projects in the region on sustainability topics • Provide leadership in project management, including managing external subcontractor parties, collaborators, students, etc. |
| Job Requirements: | Both positions required to have strong knowledge about economic and policy issues in the region (including China). Ideally, the candidate is familiar with the region or has gathered his knowledge through study or work experience in Asia.
Fluency in English, with strong writing, presentation and communication skills required and ability to speak multiple regional languages is preferred. These positions will initially be offered 3-year contracts and renewable based on the performance of the candidate and the requirements of the Institute. |
